No excuse for my behavior that night!
Bookends Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11097973354681584986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5304406780299180546.post-17600167333608003832020-01-04T18:59:23.843-08:002020-01-04T18:59:23.843-08:00That's great Penelope! I have a friend (also a vet) who crosses her fingers when she wants to remember something. I've tried that and sometimes it works but sometimes I can't remember what it is that I'm crossing my fingers for. In college, I had a habit of just a letter or two on my hand to remember things. Worked like a charm, but when I tried it later in life, I couldn't remember what the letters stood for. Attention span of an aging gnat I guess.Bookends Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11097973354681584986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5304406780299180546.post-26517861888342777822020-01-04T15:28:16.138-08:002020-01-04T15:28:16.138-08:00I made the same exact mistake one night with my ho...I made the same exact mistake one night with my horse when I had him and my mare in self care. Just thinking about it makes me feel icky inside. Same thing happened, too, that he made noise about it.

Like you, now if they talk, I listen and I’m always glad I do. Especially because now I’m a barn manager...thankfully, all of them remind me of things. It pays to slow down and look and listen and walk around the barn a couple of times. Life comes at us so rapidly now. 5 texts and a feed delivery can all happen on your way from the trough to the feed room.

I’m going on...just wanted to say that you are not alone in this story...a nerve wracking lesson to learn the hard way. I have binder twine rope by the spigots that I carry to remind me to turn them off. One of my employees told me that I had the attention span of a gnat, and there might be some truth in that.Penelopenoreply@blogger.com
